Rapid Transit Mouse Trap
The Rapid Transit was patented August 28th, 1878 and manufactured by Smith & Egge Mfg Co,
Bridgeport, Ct. Smith & Egge were early manufacturers of the Delusion mouse traps but dropped
the Delusion to manufacture the Rapid Transit instead. Unfortunately for Smith & Egge, the production
of the Delusion traps were taken up by another manufacturer and the design remained popular up through
the 1920's. The Rapid Transit did not see the same success.
